Ghale Gaun village trekking, renowned for its hospitality of the local Ghale people and natural beauty, is located in the Lamjung district of north central Nepal which is approximately 160km north west of Kathmandu and 40 km north east of Pokhara. It is also the home of the famous honey hunters and has recently been marked as a new destination for a real Nepali village experience trekking.
Ghale gaun village has full of local cultural. Besides the overwhelming hospitality the Gurung people surprises you with, Ghale Gaun is the only place from where you can view magnificent western Himalayas like Machhapuchhare, Annapurna I, Annapurna IV, Lamjung Himal, Bouddha Himal, Himalchuli and many more smaller peaks. The sightseeing into the Ghalegaun is amazing experience where you can learn and feel about the local culture. Alone the way you can view wterfalls and intense rhododendron forests.
Trekking in Ghalegaun let you feel how rich is Nepal in terms of cultural and traditional rituals. This treks are the home stays where one can enjoy witnessing Ghale/Gurung cultural traditions and rituals of life cycle; birth, wedding, death and other religious events. There are a few basic guest houses and camping sites in Ghale Gaun village in the form of accommodation. You can watch honey hunters in action as they hanging themselves from cliffs as high. Day 01Kathamndu to Besisahar 5hrs. 760m. Over night at Guest house. Departure after your breakfast from Kathmandu to Beshisahar. which is through the Prithivi High way about 150 Km and walk to Khudi 2hrs walking which is a kind of warm up day of the trek. Over night at Guest house.
Day 02Khudi - Ghalegaun 5hrs. The path goes gradually up to Ghale Goun. Offers you beautiful Himalayan range including Annapurna,Dhauligiri and Manaslu range. Over night at Guest house.
Day 03Ghalegaun exploration day. This village is very rich in culture and their tradition. Warm welcome by local people and make the sight in to the village. Over night at Guest House.
Day 04Ghalegaun - Baghungpani 1595m.6hrs. Facing with the great amazing view of mountain and walking through forest and village will take you to Gaglungpan. Over night at lodge.
Day 05Baglungpani 1595m - laxmi Bazar 5hrs. Your trek is going into the village and valley. Still great valley and village is the fantastic to observe. Over night at lodge.
Day 06Laxmi Bazar - Begnas Lake & drive back to Pokhara. Begnas lake is another great lake and you see many boating and fishing in there. Late afternoon drive to Pokhara.
Day 07Drive/fly back to Kathmandu. Our Guide drop you in your Hotel. The mode of transport is available in Pokhara either by bus or plane to Kathamndu.
Does your trekking crew have insurance?
Yes, all of our trekking staffs are well insured and well equipped.
-What happens if I get sick in the mountain?
Gat has well experienced staffs and very familiar to local people too. If You are sick, Our staffs will see and handle all kind of needs. Normally if worsen we will descent about 300 to 500 meter and see. If you are still worse then we organizes emergency evacuation by helicopter.
Do I need any vaccination before to leave?
In general you do not need any vaccination but better to consult your Doctors before to come.
-Do I get drinking water?
GAT supply purified drinking water but not bottle water because of the environmental awareness.
-Is the electricity available in the trekking?
Even though Nepal is second richest for the water resources but most of the places do not have electricity. At a same time depend where you are trekking.
- Is there ATM in the mountain?
No, there is no ATM and Bank in the mountain. So you are suggested to have cash for your trekking.
-What is the political condition in Nepal?
Nepal is federal democratic republic country since 2009. Until 2007 Nepal was in unrest political situation and was not safe to travel in Nepal. After the peace agreement between Maoist and Government is it hundred percent secure to go.
-What kind of document should I bring?
Normally a veiled pass port and insurance document is required to bring with you.
