The climate of Nepal varies extensively as you move from one region to the next. From facing the coldest and most bitter conditions on Earth to facing the sweltering heat of the plains, all happens in Nepal within a short distance. The extreme difference in temperature and climate are due to altitude variations. In general, the summers are cool in north and winters severe, while in south summers are sub-tropical and winters mild. The Terai region has a hot, humid climate while it is pleasant almost all year round in the hills, while the Himalayan region has an alpine climate.
In summer, the temperature in Terai may rise as high as 40 degree Celsius while in winter, the temperature ranges from 7 to 23 degree, whereas it is subzero to 12 degree in the mountain regions. Nepal experiences 4 seasons- Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter. Monsoon hits from June to September.
