Khayar Trekking

Khobra trekking is an exotic trek that takes you to Khayar Lake, a pristine lake located in the heart of Annapurna region. Khayar Lake, the main attraction of this trek sits ideally behind the majestic Annapurna range, providing a site that is nothing but mesmerizing. The trek is one of the new trekking trails of the Annapurna region, a region visited by tens of thousands of trekkers each year. But there is more to Khayar trek than just seeing the beautiful Khayar Lake. During this trek, you will also be going to Annapurna South Base Camp which is as mesmerizing as Khayar Lake. The views that can be enjoyed from both this vantage point is simply unbeatable.

Trek to Khayar lake offers you the view of Mt Dhaulagiri, the seventh highest mountain in the world, Annapurna III and IV, Macchhapuchre, Nilgiri, Lamjung Himal, Tukuche are some of the gorgeous mountain peaks that you will sight during this trek. These snow clad mountains look serene and provide a view that is absolutely magnificent. It is sure to let your souls feel rejuvenated. Along with enjoying exquisite mountain views, you also get a chance to pass villages, enjoy the hospitality of Nepali people and experience a diversity of culture that is one of the true wealth of this country.

Khobra trekis located between Annapurna Base Camp and Jomsom trail. It begins with a flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara. Many choose to start the trekking from Nayapul, from where you reach Tadapani, a place that consists of a thick rhododendron forest. Nepals national flower rhododendrons are beautifully strewn across the forest and the color it spreads in its vicinity makes the trail to follow even more gorgeous.

Located at an altitude of 4,620 meters, Khayar Base Camp is the first destination. From this base camp, you get a very close view of the mountains. The trek then continues to Annapurna South Base Camp, another viewpoint that provides every mountain lover and nature lover a truly wonderful respite. From Annapurna South Base Camp, you will head back along the Ghorepani route. You can visit Poon Hill, which provides unrealistic view of the Annapurna range. Then, from there it is following the route back to Nayapul and then to Pokhara.

This trek lets you visit two to three vantage points that bring you closer to the mountains. Along with getting close to nature, you will also get to understand the people of Nepal and true journey of the wilderness trek.

Day 01 : Kathamndu to Pokhara by tourist bus 7hrs Or 30 minites flight to pokhara. O/N.

Day 02 : Pokhara drive to Phedi Trek to Tolka (1850m), 6 hrs

Day 03 : Tolka - Ghandrung (2012m), 6 hrs

Day 04 : Ghandrung - Tadapani (2610m), 3 hrs

Day 05 : Tadapani - Dobato (3350m), 6 hrs

Day 06 : Dobato - Chistibung (3000m), 5 hrs

Day 07 : Chistibung - Khopra Danda (4020m), 5 hrs

Day 08 : Khopra Danda - Explore Khayar lake and back (4620m), 8 hrs

Day 09 : Khobra Danda To Sweta 5hrs.

Day 10 : Swata - Ghorepani (2855m), 3.5 hrs

Day 11 : Ghorepani - Hille (1570m), 6 hrs

Day 12 : Hille - Nayapul (1070m), drive to Pokhara overnight at Pokhara

Day 13 : Pokhara-Kathmandu

Detail Itinerary

Day 01Kathamndu to Pokhara by tourist bus 7hrs Or 30 minites flight to pokhara. O/N.After having breakfast a journey to Pokhara will starts by tourist bus. This is comfortable bus ride through the Prithvi high way. Along the way, you can see the clear river Trisuli and many local villages. This is 7hrs bus ride.

Day 02 Pokhara drive to Phedi Trek to Tolka (1850m), 6 hrs After short drive to Phedi the trek begins to Pothana. we are walking through the local Gurung village and pine,rhododendron forest. facing all great range of mountain. Over night at Pothana.

Day 03Tolka - Ghandrung (2012m), 6 hrs After the breaffast the trek goes through the Deurali ridge and descent to Landruk and modi Khola and up hill to Ghandruk. This is the finest village of Gurung tribes. Where you can visit ACA head quators. Over night at Camp.

Day 04Ghandrung - Tadapani (2610m), 3 hrs The path goes gradually up through the Rhododondron forest to Tadapani. If you are luckly you may see ifferent type of birds. Over night at Camp.

Day 05Tadapani - Dobato (3350m), 6 hrs There is no any village along the way. Hardly we may get some Yak huts. Mostly through forest,different type of alpine forest are there. Over night at camp.

Day 06Dobato - Chistibung (3000m), 5 hrs We are apporaching towards mountains and more wide valley are seen. It is competely into the nature. getting into the mountain. Over night at camp.

Day 07Chistibung - Khopra Danda (4020m), 5 hrs All the mountain views and wide valley in backwards. Over night at camp.

Day 08Khopra Danda - Explore Khayar lake and back (4620m), 8 hrs We will be slow down as we are getting into the high places. You feel hard to breathe. GAT staffs will make very comfortable to go. You will see many more mountain range and different vegetation. This is the perfect day to find the peace of your trek. You will take a packed lunch as there is no any tea house along the way. This is a 600m uphill trip and back to Khobra 4020m.

Day 09Khobra Danda To Sweta 5hrs.We are trekking down today. So it will be very easy. Again all Annapurna range, Dhaulagiri range, and Mardi Himal range can be seen in front. Again we are trekking downhill through the valleys and hills.

Day 10Swata - Ghorepani (2855m), 3.5 hrs Another good viewpoint is getting at Ghorepani to see the sunrise from Poon Hill (3100m). Today walking through the Rhododendron forest. There are 32 different species of Rhododendron in Nepal. Over night at Tea House.

Day 11Ghorepani - Hille (1570m), 6 hrs Early morning trek about 45 minutes to the top of the Poon Hill (3200m). This point offers the mind-blowing sunrise view into the Himalaya panorama and back to Lodge have a good breakfast and walk about 3/4hrs to Hille mostly downhill through the Rhododendron forest and Magar tribes. Over night at Camp.

Day 12Hille - Nayapul (1070m), drive to Pokhara overnight at Pokhara As always wake up and have a last breakfast in the Mountain and trek 2/3hrs to Nayapul and drive back to Pokhara. On your, upon arrival at Nayapul, the car is waiting to pick you up and transfer to Hotel in Pokhara.

Day 13Pokhara-Kathmandu Again you may take 7hrs Tourist bus ride to Kathmandu or you may take a beautiful short flight to Kathmandu. Arrival and transfer to Hotel.
