Lukla-Everest base camp trekking is about 63 KM and 38 in miles. It takes 7 to 8 days to go up and 3 to 4 days to get back to Lukla. The trek begins from Lukla toEverest Base Camp trek begins and goes through Choplung, Monju and Namche Bazar the famous market town of the Khumbu region. In Namche, All along the way you will be greeted with a lot of warm smiles and Namastes from the local Sherpas. Sherpa are the one of the nomadic and traders of yak hides and sundry items, returning with salt and wool. Day 03Phakding-Namche Bazaar 5 hrs. Overnight at Guest House (3440m).You are approaching to the himalaya closely. Viewing all mountain and pine forest and following the yak take you to Namche Bazar. Day 05Namche-Trek to Tyangboche 5hrs. Overnight at guest House 3680m.Trek begins very easily first part then trail goes downhill to Phunki Tanga on the river side. From here the Bouddhism was introduce into the Khombu valley. Then ascend about 800m to Tyangboche through the pine forest. Overnight at Guest House.
Day 06Tyangboche- Trek to Dingboche 5hrs. Overnight at Guest House 4400m.Tyang boche is the best place to view Mount Everest, Amadablam and Thanserku in the back. Tyang boche monastery is another attraction of the tourist so GAT staffs take you there in the morning to participate for Puja and descend through the Rhododendron forest. Facing always giant mountain range towards Chhukung valley. Over night at Guest house.
Day 07Dingboche -Lobuche 5hrs. Overnight at Guest HouseAs we are walking in high altitude area so we are trekking like a slog. When we cross the small river in Dhukla the path goes steep up to Lobuche. You visit Chorten,Mane stone and all panoramic view of above eight thousand meters mountain. Over night at Guest house.
Day 08Lobuche-Gorekshep 3hrs Overnight at Guest House 5100m.You are on the lap of the Himalayan range. Gorekshep is the initial base camp of Everest. Until 1950s climber set their camp at this place. Optional hiked up to Everest base camp and back to lodge. Over night at Guest house.
Day 09Gorekshep-Pheriche Overnight at Guest House 4110m. (Explore EBC)Early morning start your trip to Kalapathar for amazing sun rise at the closest proximity of Lhotse and Mt. Everest and on the button you will view the biggest Khumbu glacier. After breakfast trek to Pheriche for your comfort overnight.
Day 10Pheriche-Namche 6hrs.Overnight at Guest HouseWalking through the wide valley offers you the great views of Himalaya and takes your time to visit the giant Sherpa village and monastery along the way to Namche Bazar. How fit do I have for this trek?
Trekking means walking in the remote area where modern facility are not available and walking more uphill and downhill. So, if you are physically fit and health condition is fine, you can do this trek easily.
Can I use credit cards in during this trekking?
Credit card facilities are not available in the mountain. So you must have Nepalese Rupees in cash. However in major city like in Kathmandu, Pokhara, Biratnagar have credit card facilities are available.
What currency do the tea houses take?
Only Nepalese currency is accepted.
Where should I get my money exchanged?
To change Money, In major city there are several Bank and money exchanger, where you can change easily.
What payment do they take for a Nepal Visa?
Nepal Immigration accepts only in US Dollars for visa and please brings 2 pass port photographs.
What are the basic amenities at a tea house?
In few places you will get private attached bath room with running water, However most of the places you need to share the bath room. You always get comfortable private room.
Do tea houses have electricity so I can charge my electronic devices?
Yes, Most of the places have electricity and you can charge your batteries.
Are there any mandatory extra fees during the trek?
No, There is no any hidden fees apart from your personal expenses.
If I need to purchase some gear or supplies where should I get it?
All kind of branded gears you can buy in Kathmandu.
How do I find you at the airport?
Our airport representative will be holding you name card at the arrivals gate, please look your name.
What kind of weather we expect during this trekking?
The weather is very unpredictable in the mountain, however below 1000m is quite warm and coldest season it falls about 8/20 degree.
Below 2000m- Minimum 1 degree and maximum 15 degree. (1/15)
Below 3000m- Minimum -1 degree and maximum 13 degree.
Below 4000m- minimum -2 degree and maximum 12 degree
Below 5000m- minimum -4 degree and maximum 5 degree
Above 5000m is extremely cold.
How does getting food work at the tea houses?
All different verities (continental and Nepalese) of hygienic food is served during the trek.
What is the preferred type of luggage?
A backpack in its simplest form, a cloth sack carried on one's back and secured with two straps that go over the shoulders.
Can I get my clothes washed?
No there is no laundry services are available in the mountain.
Do I need to get Diamox (altitude sickness medicine) before I arrive?
Yes you better to bring some high altitude medicine with you.
Can I add extra days to my trekking?
Yes, your trekking is always flexible so you can add few days if needed.
