Encircle by Giant Mountain including above eight thousand meters Mt. Annapurna lies 46 km from the beautiful lake city Pokhara. Annapurna Sanctuary lies in the Annapurna Conservation Area, which is a protected area known for its diverse flora and fauna.

The Annapurna sanctuary trek typically starts from Nayapul after the short drive from Pokhara and passes through terrace rice fields, picturesque villages, green lush forests, and cascading waterfalls. As you ascend you are rewarded with snowcapped Mountains including Annapurna I (8091m), Machhapuchre (6,993 m), Annapurna Fangs, Gangapurna, Tent Peak, Annapurna II, and many more.

Annapurna sanctuary trek culminated at (4,200m), a natural amphitheater surrounded by high Himalayas. The views from the sanctuary are extraordinary and Annapurna I dominates the skyline.

The Annapurna sanctuary trek is considered moderately challenging and requires physical fitness. It takes about 8 to 10 days to complete it, however, it depends on the person to person as well. The food and accommodation are well managed along the trek with verities of meals and clean and comfortable twin-sharing private rooms are provided.

Which is the best time for Trekking to Annapurna Sanctuary?

The best time to embark Annapurna Sanctuary Trek is Spring (March to May) and Autumn (September to December) are considered the best time when the weather is generally clear and stable, offering excellent views and comfortable trekking condition. Daily walking distance is 10 to 15 km per day and the expected time taken is 5 hours a day hiking. The Monsoon (June- August) is heavy rain and makes the path wet and slippery but if you are going for photography then this might be the best time to visit Annapurna sanctuary. The winter season (December to February)-is too cold and occasionally the Guest house and base camp could be closed due to the heavy snowing. Upper Mustang, Upper Dolpo, and Half of the Annapurna Circuit Trek are recommended which are said to be under the rain shadow area.

What is the cost for 10 days of Annapurna Sanctuary Trek?

The cost of the 10-day Annapurna Sanctuary Trek is way cheaper than climbing a Mountain. The cost depends on the services that you receive. For an idea, the 10-day Annapurna sanctuary costs from 600 USD to 1200 USD per person. The cost includes good standard Mountain accommodation and a professional Guide and a porter.

It is important to note that since my knowledge every season the trekking route is updated and changes for the path. It is a good idea to consult a reputed trekking company Global Adventure before planning your trip to Annapurna Sanctuary. Please feel free to contact us for the latest updated itinerary, trek cost, and hotel in Kathmandu and Pokhara.
