Khayar lake trekking is an exotic trek that takes you to Khobra Danda Trek (4,500 m), a pristine lake located in the heart of the Annapurna region. Khobra Danda trek is a beautiful trek in the heart of the Annapurna Himalayan region that starts after the short drive to Nayapul (45km) from Pokhara. You will also visit Annapurna South Base Camp at an altitude of 4,130 m thus giving two vantage points to relish the majestic panorama of Mt. Dhaulagiri, Annapurna III & IV, Macchapuchre, Nilgiri, Lamjung Himal, Tukuche and many more.

Khobra trekking another attraction of the secret Khayar lake is visiting the picturesque Ghandruk village and Ghorepani village, the typical Ghandruk village, considered the most photographed village in Nepal. On your return route, you will also take a short hike to Poon Hill (3,232 m) to enjoy the sunrise and beautiful Mountain peaks of Annapurna (8,091 m), Manaslu (8,156 m), Macchapuchre (6,993 m), etc. If you wish to extend/combine this trek with Annapurna Base Camp Trekking as well.

Day 01: Arrivals in Kathmandu and transfer to Hotel.

Upon arrival at Kathmandu International Airport (TIA), one of our staff will meet you at the airport and coordinate transfer to your hotel. 1,300 m/4,290 ft.

After having breakfast in the Hotel, Drive to Pokhara by tourist bus. It is a 7 hours scenic drive to Pokhara through Prithiv High way. It will stop for lunch and tea break on the way. Along the way you can see the Mountain view and beautiful landscape. Arrival and transfer to Hotel. Evening walk along the lake side.

After having healthy breakfast at your hotel, we take a short drive to Nayapul and begin the trek. The first part of the trek is flat through the local village to Syauli Bazar. We will have a lunch at Syauli Bazar and trek 3hrs uphill to Ghandruk village. Ghandruk is the biggest village of Gurung tribes. Visit the village and Gurung Museum and ACAP hear quarter. Overnight at Guesthouse.

The path goes gradually up through the Rhododendron forest to Tadapani. You will see different type of birds, monkey as well as beautiful waterfalls. Overnight stay at guesthouse.

We will be slow down as we are getting into the high places. We take our pack lunch with us because there is no any tea shop in Khayar Lake. You feel hard to breath. Make sure we are having enough water to drink along the way. Overnight at guesthouse.

Again we are trekking downhill through the valleys and hills. Mostly we will be walking through the Rhododendron forest with many Bamboo forest with many more Orchid flowers.

It is mostly downhill through the Rhododendron forest and Magar local village. After walking 3/4 hrs you will reach Hille where we take Lunch and take a bus to Pokhara. Arrival and transfer to Hotel. Rest of the time is free.

Accommodation while on the Khayar lake/Khobra Trekking trekking:

 Accommodation at the local lodge known as Guesthouse is simple but comfortable. Toilet and washing facility are shared. In the guesthouse, travelers are provided twin sharing room with twin beds, mattress, and pillow. In high season (March to May) and September to November) in places there are few numbers of guesthouse so sometime travelers may do dormitories. In some places, guest house depends on solar power. Remote regions, the guest house does not have a toilet and running water can mean just a hole in the ground. Hot shower facility is available in some guesthouse for a price but occasionally hot shower means a bucket of hot water which is enough to wash your body. Electricity and Wi-Fi are available in some place for an additional cost.

Passport and Visa: 

All the traveler should have a 6-month validity passport. Visa can obtain on your upon arrival in Kathmandu Airport. Visa cost 30 USD, 50 USD, 125USD for 15, 30 and 90 days respectively.
