Ama Dablam Base Camp Trek Itinerary
Outline Itinerary
Day 01: Fly to Lukla and trek to Phakding (2,620 m./8,595 ft.)/8 km./ 3 hrs.
Morning flight to Lukla (35 Minutes) and start the trek through Sherpa village. The trail goes gradually flat and easy to Phakding. Note: The Lukla flight may depart from Ramechap during the busy season.
Please remember: In high season all the STOL flights may conduct from Ramechap-Lukla-Ramechap to avoid air traffic and delays. Kathmandu to Ramechap is 130km/5 hrs. The Flight to Lukla from Ramechap is just 15 minutes. So, your departure from the Hotel will be about 2/3 am in the morning.

Day 02: Phakding trek to Namche Bazaar (3,440 m./11,285 ft)-12 km./
You are approaching the Himalayas. Viewing all-mountain and pine forest and following the yak trail takes you to Namche Bazar. On the way, you will have your first encounter with Mount Everest, Amadablam, Thamserku, and many more.

Altitude gain-820 m.
Walking time- 7 hrs.

Day 03: Rest day in Namche for acclimatization
Optional hike to Thame/Khumjung Monastery/Everest View Hotel 3,880 m/12,804 ft.

Walking time- 5 hrs.
Altitude gain 440 m.
Meals- Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner
Day 04: Namche Trek to Tengboche (3,680 m./12,070 ft.) 11 km./5 hrs.
Trek begins gradually first part then the trail goes downhill to Phunki Tanga on the riverside. Then ascend about 800m to Tengboche through the pine forest enjoying the scenic views.

Altitude gain 240 m.

Day 05: Tengboche Trek to Ama Dablam Base Camp (4,700 m./15,420 ft.) 10 km./6 hrs.
Tengboche is the best place to view Mount Everest, Ama Dablam, and Thamserku in the back. Tengboche monastery is another attraction for the tourist so you may join for pooja in the morning and descend through the Rhododendron Forest to Debuche and walk to Pangboche. After Pangboche the path is rugged and fragile and reaches the base camp

Day 06: Ama Dablam Base camp Trek to Mangla Danda 4,900 m./16,072 ft./8 km./ 6 hrs.
Explore the Base Camp and trek back to Pangboche (3,930 m). Trek through the upper part of Pangboche to Phortse village 3,810 m. and descend to the riverside and up to Mangla Danda. The last part of the trek is difficult compared to other days. This is the only part of the trek that you will visit anyone along the way. You will be fully into the wilderness. Just enjoy!

Day 07: Mongla Danda trek to Manjo 2,835 m./9,298 ft./12 km./6 hrs
This is the best scenic viewpoint of the Everest region trek. Enjoy the great Mountain view including Thamserku, Kusum Kangaru, Ama Dablam, Peak 38, Island Peak, Lhotse sar, Nuptse, Everest, Pomari, Kwagde Peak, Tabuche Peak in 360-degree angles. Descend to Manjo via Namche Bazar. The total walking duration is 6 hours.

Day 08: Manjo trek to Lukla 2,800 m./8,185 ft./ 10 km./5 hrs
Follow the Dudh Koshi River and wall engraving Mantra “Om Mane Padme Hun” leads to Lukla. Arrival and check in hotel.
The distance covers 10 km.
Altitude descend- 35 m.

Day 09: Fly back to Kathmandu 138 km./86 miles/35 min flying time
After having an early breakfast at Lukla, Fly back to Kathmandu and transfer to the Hotel with a private car to your designated hotel.
