Chispani-Nagarkot 2N/3D Trek is the nearest and shortest trek around Kathmandu Valley. For those who do not have enough time but still would like to experience easy trekking, Chisapani Nagarkot is an ideal trek for you.

Named after a Tamang village called Chisapanai, the Chisapani trek starts from Sundarijal, an hour's ride from the core of Kathmandu city. The trail passes through Shivapuri National Park, Nepal’s newest national park, which is home to many wild animals such as leopards, bears, and wild boar. You will begin your trek through a serene and quiet forest and go past ancient Tamang villages such as Mulkhharka, Chispani, etc.

Chisapani located at an altitude of 2215m is the highest point you will reach on this trek. Chispani is a vantage point for splendid views of the Manaslu, Langtang, and Ganesh Himalayan ranges. The trek ends in Nagarkot (2175m) which is the best hill ride for watching sunrise and sunset and the Himalayan peaks such as the Annapurna range, Langtang ranges, and Ganesh Himal to Everest and Kanchenjunga in the east.

Day 01: Drive from Kathmandu to Sundarijal and then trek to Chisapani 2,100 m./6,890 ft./20 km./4 hrs.

You can take a short drive from Kathmandu to Sundarijal bus stop. The trek begins as you cross the Army check post and enter Shivapuri National Park. You will soon pass through rhododendron forests and Tamang villages with great views of Mt. Manaslu and Mt. Fishtail. Chisapani is a Tamang village. Overnight at Guest House.

Enjoy early morning view of Himalaya peaks such as Ganesh Himal, Langtang, Gaurishankar and even Everest. After breakfast, trek to Jhule then Chauki making a last uphill hike to Nagarkot. Stay overnight in hotel.

Wake up early to enjoy sunrise and magnificent views of Himalayan ranges such as Langtang, Manaslu, HImal, Everest, Kanchejunga etc. Have breakfast and then start trekking to Changunarayam temple, which is oldest Hindu temple in Kathmandu. There is an optional short trek to Shankhu which includes visit to Bhagawati Mai temple. Later on drive back to Kathmandu.

Group Size, guide, and crew member:

We organize Ghalegaun Trek for single people to a maximum of 16 people at once or even if you have more than 16 people then we can split the group into two or more groups (according to the number of trekkers) however you all can walk together and stay at the same guest house and there are only different guide, and there are 1 guide up to 10 people and 2 guides for 11-16 people.

Trek as an Individual, Private Group, or Join a Scheduled Trek:

Global Adventure Trekking specializes in organizing treks for individuals, couples, and small groups. You can trek by yourself as a private group on the date you select without paying extra, or you can choose to join a small group that is scheduled during your preferred time frame. We also now and then arrange groups on dates other than those shown on this schedule so feel free to contact us to inquire about other possible dates for group treks that you might be able to join.

Accommodation During Ghalegaun Trek:

 Accommodation at the local lodge known as Guesthouse is simple but comfortable. The toilet and washing facility are shared. In the guesthouse, travelers are provided a twin shared room with twin beds, mattresses, and pillows. In some places, guest house depends on solar power. A hot shower facility is available in the guesthouses Electricity and Wi-Fi is available in the hotel.

Passport and Visa: 

All travelers should have a 6-month validity passport. A visa can obtain on your upon arrival at Kathmandu Airport. Visa cost 25 USD, 50 USD, and 125 USD for 15, 30, and 90 days respectively.
