Langtang-Helambu Trekking is one of the most beautiful and scenic treks in the Langtang region. The trekking starts from Syabrubesi, a 6-hour drive from Kathmandu, and ends in beautiful Helambu. The trail passes through Langtang National Park, the first Himalayan national park in Nepal. The park comes alive with wildlife activities every day. Especially the blooming of rhododendrons during Spring attracts one and all.

As you climb to Langtang Valley, the trail moves from rich subtropical forests of oak, birch, and pine to alpine meadows and yak pastures. In Langtang Valley, you will visit Kyangin Gompa which provides spectacularly breathtaking views of the Langtang ranges including Langtang Lirung, Dorje Lakpa, and Langshisha. Also, visit Langtang village which was recently devastated by Earthquake in 2015, and take a side trip to observe the majestic Langtang Glacier. Besides the Kyangin Buddhist monastery, there is a cheese factory run by the local community. The major inhabitants of this region are the Tamang community, which follows Tibetan Buddhism. After having well acclimatization in Langtang Valley, You will be approaching towards to Gosaikunda Lake. Gosaikunda Lake is another beautiful and scenic view of the whole trek. There are about 108 different lakes and several can be seen around, and the Gosaikunda is the biggest one. This trek is a mixture of adventure and Spiritual. This place is the abode of the Hindu deities Shiva and Parvati. The challenging part of this trek is the crossing of Laurebina Pass at (4,609 m.15,117 ft.) to visit the sacred lake of Gosaikunda at 4,300 m./14,104 ft. From here you drop off to the Helambu region, Langtang Helambu trek hosts beautiful Tamang and Sherpa villages with their unique culture. Langtang Helambu Trekking is a small circuit trek over Gosaikunda Lake.

Day 01: Arrival and transfer to Hotel 1,350 m./4,428 ft./ 30 min. drive

Upon your arrival in Kathmandu International Airport, met our dedicated staff, who is waiting for your warm welcome to Nepal. And transfer to your Hotel for the comfortable stay.

• Pashupatinath Temple: Nepal's most sacred Hindu shrine and considered one of the greatest Shiva sites, is located on the banks of the Bagmati River five km north-east of Kathmandu Valley.

• Boudha Nath Stupa: The largest stupa in Nepal and the holiest Tibetan Buddhist temple outside Tibet. It is the centre of Tibetan culture in Kathmandu and rich in Buddhist symbolism.

• Monkey Temple: Swayambhunath is an ancient religious complex atop a hill in the Kathmandu Valley, west of Kathmandu city. It is also known as the Monkey Temple as there are holy monkeys living in the northwest parts of the temple.

• Kathmandu Durbar Square: Also known as Hanuman Dhoka Durbar Square is the plaza in front of the old royal palace of the then Kathmandu Kingdom. The Durbar Square is surrounded by spectacular architecture and vividly showcases the skills of the Newar artists and craftsmen over several centuries.

After morning breakfast we drive out along the north-western hills of Kathmandu. Enjoy the Himalayan views and mountainous lifestyle through the terraced fields and rustic villages. Take Lunch at the Trishuli Bazar before continuing further to Dhunche. From Dhunche, we descend down to Syabrubesi.

This is our first day of trekking, Crossing the Bhote Koshi through the suspension bridge and walking up to Khangjim Village. After Khangjim, the easy path to Sherpa village offers a great wide range of landscapes. The trail goes mostly uphill but it’s not that challenging.

Today after breakfast, we start our trekking day towards the village of Langtang Village or Mundu. Our trail continues along dense forests. After making a steady climb up through the valley, we leave the tree line behind us. Enjoy the marvelous views of Langtang Lirung.

After having breakfast, the trek goes through the Langtang village which was flooded away by an earthquake-triggered avalanche, destroying an entire village and infrastructures. We also see the ruins of Langtang Village, where life is slowly building back and a few tea houses are reopened. we will start our journey to Kyangjin Gompa, a principal monastery in the region. You will pass by water mills, prayer wheels, and Chortens, with sacred mounds of rocks with inscriptions carved on them. Also pass the largest Mani wall in Nepal, made from stone with prayers written on them.

After taking morning tea and breakfast, we get out of the village and pass on through yak pastures and start hiking Tserko Ri (5,000 m./16,404 ft.) for mountain sunrise views. Since we are really getting into the high altitudes; you might start feeling the thin air. In the afternoon, return to Kyangjin Gompa- surrounded by the Himalayas all around. You can take a walk around Kyangjin Gompa enjoying the views, glaciers, icefalls, birds, and yaks.

Trek back to Lama Hotel is also pleasant walking as you are facing to the southern area and looking at the missing views which you may left on the way up. Ovetrnight at Guest.

Walking through the Rhododendron forest and looking at the barely wheat field. The trail goes uphill to Syabru village which is the most inhabited village. After having lunch at Syabru village continuous one hour to Garta. Garta offers fantastic views over the Tibetan range, Ganesh Himal range and many more can see. Overnight at Guest house.

On this day mostly the trail ascends through Chir Pine forest to Chandan Bari. This part of the forest is highly inhabited by the endangered animal Red Panda. Visit the cheese factory and Monastery at Chandan Bari. Walking to Laurebina Top is a fantastic place for staying overnight. This is the most scenic viewpoint. Overnight at Guest House.

The most exciting day of your trek to Gosainkunda lake and going to gain 4000m height. Again you are trekking above the tree lines. The massif range of mountain from Laurebina (3,910m) offers the massive Mountain vista, diverse landscape, spiritual power by Gosaikunda lake drag you to Gosaikunda lake. Over night at Guest house.

After visiting the lake and taking a little shower from the Holy Lake you begin a beautiful day to Gosainkunda pass (4,600 m.) known as a (medium to hard) and down to Ghopte. After the great views of the mountains, the Spectacular valley and the long way descending take you to Ghopte. Overnight at Guest House.

Gradually up to Thare pati mostly through the Pine and Rhododendron forest and down to Mugengoat. Where you take lunch and gradually down to Kutumsam. The local Tamang tribes offer warm hospitality with a smile as a mountain. Overnight at Guest house.

Chisapani is the view point and on the ridge of hills. You will trek through Shivapuri National Park. Tiger, Wild board, birds are highly inhabited. 3 hrs descending will arrive in Sundarijal and by bus/cab/jeep take you to Kathmandu.

  • All the travelers should have a 6-month validity passport. Visa can obtain on your upon arrival in Kathmandu Airport. Visa cost 30 USD, 50 USD, 130 USD for 15, 30 and 90 days respectively
