Everest Base Camp Trek Itinerary
Outline Itinerary
Day 01: Arrival and transfer to Hotel in Kathmandu
Upon arrival at Kathmandu International Airport, our airport representative welcome you and drive to the Hotel. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 02: Fly to Lukla and trek to Phakding (2,620 m)/4 hrs-8km
Morning flight to Lukla (35 Minutes) and start the trek through Sherpa village. The trail goes gradually flat and easy to Phakding. Note: The Lukla flight may depart from Ramechap during the busy season.
Please remember: In high season all the STOL flights may conduct from Ramechap-Lukla-Ramechap to avoid air traffic and delays. Kathmandu to Ramechap is 130km/5hrs. The Flight to Lukla from Ramechap is just 15 minutes. So, your departure from the Hotel will be about 2/3 am in the morning.
Day 03: Phakding trek to Namche Bazaar (3,440 m), 5hrs-12km
You are approaching the Himalayas. Viewing all-mountain and pine forest and following the yak trail takes you to Namche Bazar. On the way, you will have your first encounter with Mount Everest, Amadablam, Thamserku, and many more.
Day 04: Rest day in Namche for acclimatization
Optional hike to Thame/Khumjung Monastery/Everest View Hotel 3880m/12,804ft
Day 05: Namche Trek to Tengboche (3,680 m). 5hrs-11km.
Trek begins very easily first part then the trail goes downhill to Phunki Tanga on the riverside. Then ascend about 800m to Tengboche through the pine forest enjoying the scenic views..
Day 06: Tengboche Trek to Dingboche (4,400 m), 5hrs-11km
Tengboche is the best place to view Mount Everest, Amadablam, and Thamserku in the back. Tengboche monastery is another attraction for the tourist so you may join for pooja in the morning and descend through the Rhododendron forest. Facing always giant mountain range towards Chhukung valley.
Day 07: Acclimatize day in Dingboche
Optional Explore the Chhukung Valley (4730m-7km) the last village and back to Dingboche or hike to Nagarjuna Hill just above the Dingboche from you can see sunset at Makalu.
Day 08: Dingboche trek to Lobuche (4,900 m), 6hrs-10km
As we are walking in high altitude area so we are trekking like a slog. When we cross the small river in Dhukla the path goes steep up to Lobuche. You visit Chorten, Mane stone and all panoramic view of above eight thousand meters mountain.
Day 09: Lobuche-Gorak Shep (5,100 m). 3hrs trek to Everest Base Camp-13km
You are on the lap of the Himalayan range. Gorak Shep is the initial base camp of Everest. Until the 1950s climber set their camp at this place. Optional 3hrs/6km hiked up to Everest base camp (5,360 m) and back to lodge. Or hike to Kala Patthar for sunset.
Day 10: Hike to Kala Pathar and trek back to Pheriche (4,250 m), 7hrs-15km
Early morning start your trip to Kala Patthar for amazing sunrise if you leave it in the previous day at the closest proximity of Lhotse and Mt. Everest and on the button, you will view the biggest Khumbu glacier. After breakfast trek to Pheriche for your comfort overnight.
Day 11: Pheriche Trek back to Namche, 6hrs-17km.
Walking through the wide valley offers you the great views of Himalaya and takes your time to visit the giant Sherpa village and monastery along the way to Namche Bazar. You might see the Trans Himalayan Market in Namche Bazaar.
Day 12: Namche Bazar trek to Lukla, 6hrs-18km
Even though you are trekking back same trails but a lot of different views and Sherpa village will keep your mind busy.
Day 13: Lukla-Morning fly back to Kathmandu
Take a Mountain scenic flight over the Himalayas to Kathmandu. Arrival and transfer to Hotel. The trip will conclude here. You are open for your wellness day in Kathmandu. Evening, farewell dinner in a Nepali typical restaurant. Remember: if you are traveling to the Everest region in October and April/May, Then all the flight operates from Ramechap to Lukla and back.
Day 14: Kathmandu Hotel-Transfer to Airport (TIA)
After having the hygienic breakfast we will transfer you to The Kathmandu Airport with private vehicle for your final departure.
