Gosaikunda / Frozen Lake Trekking Itinerary
Day 01: Arrival and transfer to Hotel in Kathmandu (1,350 m)
Upon scheduled arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu, we will be greeted by Global Adventure Trekking Company (GAT) personnel and transferred to the hotel. Checking in and if time consent visit GAT’s office for pre-trip briefing and meet the Guide. Then free to wander around Thamel.
Day 02: Guided Kathmandu Heritage Sightseeing Tour
Pashupatinath Temple: Nepal's most sacred Hindu shrine and considered one of the greatest Shiva sites, is located on the banks of the Bagmati River five km north-east of Kathmandu Valley.
•Boudha Nath Stupa: The largest stupa in Nepal and the holiest Tibetan Buddhist temple outside Tibet. It is the centre of Tibetan culture in Kathmandu and rich in Buddhist symbolism.
•Monkey Temple: Swayambhunath is an ancient religious complex atop a hill in the Kathmandu Valley, west of Kathmandu city. It is also known as the Monkey Temple as there are holy monkeys living in the northwest parts of the temple.
•Kathmandu Durbar Square: Also known as Hanuman Dhoka Durbar Square is the plaza in front of the old royal palace of the then Kathmandu Kingdom. The Durbar Square is surrounded by spectacular architecture and vividly showcases the skills of the Newar artists and craftsmen over several centuries.
•Evening group briefing at your hotel.
Day 03: Kathmandu drive to Dhunche (1,920 m), 7hrs
Gosainkunda trekking begins after the bus drive to Dhunche and bus leave early morning. Our Trek Guide will receive you in your hotel at Kathmandu and transfer to the bus station and go together Dhunche via Trisuli Bazaar. This is a scenic and adventure overland tour to Dhunche.
Day 04: Dhunche Trek to Singh Gumba (3,330 m), 5 hrs
Dhunche is the district headquarter of Rasuwa. Dhunche is another viewpoint place and after breakfast, your trekking begins. Our staffs always make sure you all are fine and ready to leave. The trekking trails are almost level to Trisuli River. After we cross the river path leads you uphill through the forest. After a few hours, you will arrive in Singh Gumba.
Day 05: Shing Gumba Trek to Gosainkunda Lake (4,380 m), 6 hrs
Singh Gumba is the home of endangered Red Panda and a beautiful monastery. Today begin your trek to Gosainkunda lake. The trail is uphill but very pleasant due to the mountain range and vegetation along the way. Mostly we walk through the pine forest and in the lower section but as soon as you arrived at Lauribinayak the massive range of mountain and ice lake will appear. Keep walking through the narrow alley to holy lake Gosainkunda.
Day 06: Gosainkunda Lake Exploration and Trek back to Singh Gumba, 5 hrs
Gosainkunda is a holy place where many shrines go there for Pooja on the special dates. After visiting all the lakes and viewing sunrise we will trek down to Singh Gomba for a night.
Day 07: Shing Gomba Trek down to Dhunche, 4 hrs
Your trek will descend down to Dhunche through the side trails. This forest is famous for Red Panda and many Natural Aurvedhik medicine plants are found.
Day 08: Dhunche Drive back to Kathmandu
After having breakfast at Dhunche, we take a 7hrs bus ride back to Kathmandu. Arrivals and transfer to Hotel. Evening, farewell dinner at Nepalese typical restaurant with cultural show.
Day 09: Final Departure
According to your flight schedule, our staff will drop you to the airport.
